Tire Problem
Solid tires had mediocre tire hours/service life, negative harsh ride and loss of traction in inclement weather (rain & snow).

Trojan Solution
Installed Trojan SD Soft Core in Bias Tire.

Success / Outcome
With Trojan Soft Core, the customer achieved cost savings providing extended service life. The hours ranged between 4000-6000 per set.   Additionally, the paving stone manufacturer had an overall reduction in tire expenses when the Trojan Soft Core was reused. Operators enjoyed increased tractive effort as a result of the Trojan Soft Core’s air-cell flex giving the tire a full flat foot print. The air-like ride gave the operators added confidence while maneuvering through the large stock yard to load trucks and trailers in any weather.

Site Conditions
Machine travels 14 mph (23 km/h). Distance of 750 feet (230 metres). Cycles per day 12 trips. Average Ambient Temperature 79°F (26°C) in the summer and 14°F (-10°C) in the winter. Steep Incline on cement ramp.

Tire Problem
Previous history on OEM solid tires had mediocre tire hours/service life as solids would chunk out and fail prematurely. Negative harsh ride and loss of traction in inclement weather (rain & snow). Radiant heat from plant caused flashed freezing of ramp in winter making for slippery hazardous conditions. Solid tire shock caused wheel dishes to crack and fail which was a safety hazard.

Success / Outcome
Soft Core has allowed for full tire tread wear out which has achieved cost savings providing extended service life. The smelter had an overall reduction in tire expenses when the Soft Core was reused. Operators enjoyed increased tractive effort resulting from Trojans air-cell flex giving the tire a full flat foot print. The tires were studded which aided in tractive effort. The air-like ride gave the operators added confidence while maneuvering up and down the icy ramp in winter with cargo. Wheel damaged was eliminated by the Trojan Soft Core air-cell technology.

Tire Problem
Pneumatic truck tires on tractor would experience frequent flats and punctures. Polyurethane filled truck tires failed resulting in excessively high tire expenses and downtime.

Trojan Solution
Installed Trojan HD Soft Core in industrial mine bias tires 10.00-20 (7.5) & 44-18L20 (15.00) which replaced the commercial truck tire positions.

Success / Outcome
Trojan Soft Core provides extra load capacity to increase tire life by as much as 10 times. Trojan Soft Core eliminates air tire failures allowing tire treads to be worn out. Trojan Soft Core is reused multiple times for cost savings. Estimated tire life expectancy ranges from 5-8 years running time with zero down time due to tire failures. Indoor Plant & Outdoor Yard. Indoor concrete floor in bad condition (pot holes, cracks). Outdoor gravel yard with pot holes (some paved areas). Cycle times vary.

Tire Problem
The Aluminum company was not happy with conventional solid tire performance. Solid tires created shock transfer to the equipment, the cargo and the operator. Pneumatic inflation was not an option due to flat/puncture frequency and the company required an airless tire for safety (no air no explosive force).

Machine travels 14 mph (23 km/h). Distance of 1250 feet (230 metres). Average Ambient Temperature in the summer of 85°F (30°C) and 32°F (0°C) in the winter. Floors unpaved gravel yard. The storage racks had sharp steel edges that damage the tires when loading/unloading materials.

Tire Problem
Solid tires had mediocre tire hours/service life as solids would chunk out and be removed prior to tread wear out. Negative harsh ride caused operator fatigue. Freezing winter temperatures make for slippery hazardous conditions.
